Before I go through the effort of putting together an all Pigpen compilation CD(s), I thought I'd ask to see if anyone out there has put one together or has recommendations of select Pigpen tracks for a Best Of CD. Thanks in advance

What, no one's mentioned the 4/17/71 Princeton Good Lovin? Where else can you buy the Brooklyn Bridge for a buck and a quarter?

No listing here on the forum, but places like speedingarrow have it.

Correction, I just now found it has recently been added:

Here are a few of the less obvious Pigpen classics. As far as Lovelight,Hard To Handle and some of those go, there are SO MANY great versions and I'm sure we all have an opinion on the best versions of those. Anyways, check out these, especially the rarely played Searchin' and Operator. These are the best versions I've heard of those two songs:

Searchin' and Operator from 11/8/70 http://www.archive.org/details/gd1970-11-08.aud.weiner.28609.sbeok.shnf

The Same Thing from 3/18/67 http://www.archive.org/details/gd67-03-18.sbd.fink.10282.sbeok.shnf

Smokestack Lightning from 12/4/71 http://www.archive.org/details/gd71-12-04.sbd.lai.6256.sbefail.shnf

Next Time You See Me 5/15/70 http://www.archive.org/details/gd_nrps70-05-15new.shnf

Don't forget "Hurts me too" from 9-16-66 and "Hard to Handle" from 8-6-71. Mr Charlie from Europe 72, and Operator, from ABeauty.

At least those would be a few of my favs by PP.
